The Swapper
The Swapper
Description (IGDB)
The Swapper is a short puzzle platformer where you must complete every puzzle and collect 124 orbs, in groups of 3 and 9 later on, to complete the game. The game has a tool which lets you create up to 4 clones and switch between them as long as you have a clear line of sight. The main obstacles for the puzzles are 3 kinds of lights that interfere with the tool in different ways to make the puzzles harder. Achievements/Trophies are tied to hidden consoles instead of story progress so a guide will most likely be needed to find all 10.
Histoire (IGDB)
"The Swapper takes place in an isolated and atmospheric sci-fi world. Players wield an experimental device which allows them to create clones of themselves, swapping their entire consciousness into new bodies to overcome the challenges of the environment."

« I came away from The Swapper with nothing but amazement. From the first time you see the literally hand-crafted visuals until the final moment in the game, which is sure to give you pause for thought, you will be in complete awe. Brilliant puzzles with even more brilliant solutions compliment the philosophical plotline, leaving an unforgettable experience unlike any other. »
« The Swapper is a game that perfectly blends gameplay, story, aesthetics, and mood to shine as a perfect experience of the type of experience only video games can deliver. »
« If you’re coming for the puzzles then you’ll have a great time, if you want a story that makes you question your beliefs then you may find what you’re looking for and if you just want to sit in awe at the clay world then that’s fine too. »
« The Swapper is a unique experience that will charm any fan of science fiction as well as fans of games like Braid, Metroid and Castlevania. The game looks and sounds beautiful and the cloning mechanics are both novel, creative and challenging. »
« A highly atmospheric, gorgeous title with a variety of mind-bending puzzles. The ride is over quickly, but it will stick with me for quite some time. »
« Very few puzzle games have ever managed to marry impeccable challenges with a mature storytelling quite like this – there's no fluff or extraneous content here, only a prime example of how to create a tight, unforgettable gaming experience. »
« This is a game that demands more from its players, and treats them as capable thinkers. Don’t make the mistake of dismissing The Swapper. »
« A superb offering, a metaphysical discussion masterfully disguised as an excellently designed puzzle game. A game that you will remember. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Incredibly boring and ugly. Feels so pointless throughout the game. Nothing is engaging. »
« zamanında bok sandık beğenmedik iade ettik. tadını bi yarım saat oynadıktan sonra alacan. kafa açıyo »
« Some of the puzzles are not only too convoluted but also very disappointing once you discover the solution. Furthermore, even changing the settings the game is blurry. Makes it impossible to recommend. »
« Pretty meh game. Mechanically the puzzles are not very interesting when you strip away the clone aspect. Even for 2013 this game looks pretty rough. Bleak ambigous graphics, blatant Super Metroid and Alien homage, and truly awful feeling main character. Leans heavily on the "consciousness is big mysterious" trope. »
« Great art game representing ludonarrative concept. Neat story with gaps we all are free to fill. The story is dependent on the gameplay, which is not very hard. I liked the concept, music, and aesthetics. »
« I am giving it a 10. Many years after I beat it I came to the conclusion that this game is a gold standard for me to which I compare and judge other titles. I've become increasingly aware of that recently. It is just a really quality deep sci-fi story (which is the most important part), a great "setting-atmosphere-theme" (second most important), and a very good and interesting puzzle platformer (third). This game has 10 years now and is representative of our industry in that it simply doesn't invest in quality "not safe" stories anymore. »
« with unravel best looking platform game. solving to puzzles and space travel copying yourself feels like portal very deep and complex some times requre to manage gravity carefully. its work on windows xp with 2005 pc even with that amazing looking graphics. this and unvravel so much better than limbo like or ori like games. »
