GamePro 100/100

« This is Grand Theft Auto the way you love it: all of the innovation, charm and thrills from its past installations neatly tied together in a creative package worthy of any DS owner. »

Eurogamer 100/100

« Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is a triumph, not just in terms of bringing a difficult game to a new platform intact, but because it actually improves it in the process, and demonstrates a mastery of DS form and function. »

Cynamite 100/100

« Great scope, nice car handling, awesome multiplayer – Rockstar delivers extraordinary GTA quality on a small display. »

GamesRadar+ 100/100

« Shameless developers trotting out shallow minigame anthologies and SNES era RPGs should stand in embarrassment at just how much potential Rockstar Leeds managed to wring from a console this late in its lifespan. Gentlemen, it’s time to beg your girlfriend for that DS back. Perhaps you could trade in your PS3 - it’s not like that’s getting more GTA anytime soon. »

Pocket Gamer UK 100/100

« A pocket rocket that's sumptuous to look at, riotously funny and deeply rewarding. GTA: Chinatown Wars is one of Rockstar's and the DS' best ever. »

G4 TV 100/100

« It’s a great comfort to know that Rockstar Games not only makes great games, but understands what makes them great. Chinatown Wars is the culmination of years of work as well as the spirit of ingenuity to bring one of the biggest series to the smallest screen. Nothing in the game feels half done or forced. If anything, the game feels like a development team having fun with a concept. »

Gameplanet 100/100

« Probably the best DS title on the market currently, Chinatown Wars shows Rockstar can master not only next-gen console and PC, they know a thing or two about handheld gaming as well. »

BigPond GameArena 100/100

« Chinatown Wars is an achievement. It's not the typical kind of game you'd expect on the DS - the learning curve is steeper than normal thanks to the small help text (expected on a portable) and the legions of police and it's a very adult game. Still, I'll gladly take the time to learn if it comes with the entirety of Liberty City, a working drug economy plus people, cars, boats, and the occasional helicopter and next to no loading times. »

« Una de las mejores entregas portátiles de GTA, con ideas frescas y una jugabilidad sorprendentemente profunda. Gameplay innovador. Sistema de drogas estratégico. Gran adaptación portátil. Estilo visual único. Misiones dinámicas. Puntos débiles: Historia menos profunda. Vista cenital no para todos. Limitaciones de portátil »

DarkMythHunter 10/10

« **Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars – 9.7/10** A bold return to the series’ top-down roots with a modern twist. Set in Liberty City, it combines fast-paced missions with stylized visuals and addictive side activities like drug trading. The touchscreen mechanics feel innovative, and the story is sharp and engaging. Despite its smaller scale, it delivers a deep, polished GTA experience packed with personality. »

Handit 9/10

« Pretty good game, but the mechanics are a little bit difficult to learn due to the ds controls »

mikeunknown 9/10

« My Review – Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars – 9/10 I gave Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars a 9 out of 10 because it’s a surprisingly deep and fun entry in the GTA series. The top-down perspective feels fresh and works well on handhelds, and the story is engaging with interesting characters and missions. The gameplay is addictive, with lots of side activities, drug trade mechanics, and clever mini-games that keep things varied. The controls are tight, and the game has a ton of replay value, even if the graphics aren’t as flashy as other GTA titles. This is why GTA: Chinatown Wars is a 9 out of 10. »

angryguy12 9/10

« Game is much more fun than it looks, a remake of this game would be amazing. This was my first ever GTA game and probably my favourite. »

brosssina 8/10

« such an underrated title, man. it might somewhat lacks on it's visuals and story and their audio design, but this is the most fun, and have the most chaotic gameplay on this series. the idea that in order to lose your wanted level by beating the cops's cars makes the gameplay more anarchistic, and it's the whole selling point of the game and they nailed it. »
