Histoire (IGDB)
Mirenia is an 18 year old girl on a quest for redemption. After unleashing an evil power when she was a teenager, she is now on her way to Tirkin Fortress to perform an ancient spell that should help her vanquish the very evil she unleashed three years ago. Now, nearing the end of her quest, she arrives in the villages just outside the fortress, where monsters ravage, young women are being raped and men are being slaughtered. Armed with her trusted Shield Blade, Mirenia is so close of undoing the mistakes of her past. Will she succeed or ultimately only make matters worse?

A brutal side-scrolling action RPG rooted in retro arcade challenge.
Three years ago, Mirenia unleashed an ancient evil that plunged the land into chaos. Now 18, she journeys to Tirkin Fortress, determined to seal the dark power she set free and redeem herself for the destruction left in her wake. Villages lie in ruin. The dead walk. Monsters ravage the land. Only by surviving the horrors ahead can Mirenia hope to right her past mistakes. Armed with her trusted Shield Blade, Mirenia is close of undoing the mistakes of her past. Will she succeed or ultimately only make matters worse?

The Skylia Prophecy is a linear, story-driven 2D action RPG inspired by classic side-scrollers of the 8- and 16-bit eras. Exploration exists, but progression is mostly forward, without much backtracking. You’ll fight your way through hand-crafted areas, conquer punishing bosses, and uncover secrets that reward careful players.
Old-school difficulty: Inspired by the ‘tough but fair’ design philosophy of Souls-like games. Mistakes are punished, but perseverance is rewarded.
No grinding required: Smart play and talking to NPCs will earn you upgrades that make the final stretch easier; if you put in the effort.
Combat requires patience: You have the Shield Blade, magic, and reflexes. Thinking matters more than button-mashing.
Retro presentation: Gorgeous pixel art, atmospheric music, and a tone that evokes classic dark fantasy RPGs.
-------------------------------
This is not a Metroidvania. While you’ll revisit towns and find hidden areas, progression is mostly linear. This is a focused, retro-style RPG experience with modern influences; built to challenge and reward the old-school gamer.
Please read the instruction manual if you require assistance.
If you buy this game, you get the game "The Masked Mage" for a very reduced price.

Patch Notes 1.0.6
Hello there, after some time (and gathering intel) a new patch has arrived, adressing several issues:Final Boss: Should work as intended now. Had an issue where it could fall through the floor or disappear. Was fixed, should always be defeatable nowFinal Area: Save Statues now recharge as intended, making it possible to save and restore health more than onceSwamp Area: There was a quest that sometimes did not trigger. Completing the quest should now trigger all the timeCity Area: The miniboss in the tomb has been fixed. It will no longer softlock youWastelands Area: Birds, bats and other flying nuisances will now properly spawn and triggerForest Area: It should no longer be possible to softlock behind disappearing doorsGeneral fixes: A few more softlocks were fixed by introducing some background code that will replenish 1 MP after a certain time, but only if the player has no MP left and is standing absolutely still. Also, enemies that die to a blue mana effect now also recharge 1MP if the player doesn't have any MP left. That way you'll never softlock due to missing mana. Some enemy behavior and placements have also been adjusted slightly and some layering issues have been resolved. This should cover most issues. As for save file compatibility, this patchdoes not fix previously saved games. If you continue from a previous save, know that only new events will be fixed. So if you already entered the final Area, this patch may fix some issues with the final boss, but nothing else. Why notuse the chance for a replay?
