Description (IGDB)

Strider 2, released in arcades and on the Sony Playstation in 2000, is the sequel to the popular arcade and multiplatform game Strider. This game is considered the true sequel to the original Strider, rather than Strider Returns. Strider Returns is not considered a part of the series, as it was not developed by Capcom, it was exclusive to the west, and most people hated it. Strider 2, on the other hand, was very well received. Unfortunately, despite being hailed by critics and series fans, Strider 2 did not sell well. The Playstation version of the game included the original Strider on a separate disc, for those who had never played it to become accomodated with the series. In the United States, there was a printing error for the game that swapped the labelling of each CD, so the Strider 2 disc was labelled Strider, and the Strider disc was labelled Strider 2.

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Game Fan 89/100

« All the bosses in "Strider 2" look awesome, and hopefully, will inspire younger players to realize what a real side-scrolling action game should be like. »

IGN 85/100

« It's enormously fun -- and isn't that what really matters in the end? »

Core Magazine 83/100

« If you're looking for a deliciously shallow, unquestionably mindless action platformer (the kind they don't make like they did back in the proverbial day), "Strider 2" is a perfect shelter from the storm of "Tomb Raider" clones diluting the market. »

GameSpot 80/100

« The double set of "Strider 1" and "2" is an excellent starter kit for the uninitiated, but for veterans of the series, it's like dinner without the dessert. »

Hot Games 80/100

« Not only is it a fun, clean, and interesting platform game, but it includes the original game as well -- two games for one low price. »

PSX Nation 75/100

« Even with "Strider 1" as a bonus game, it shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours to complete both games, and there isn't much to make you want to play the games again. »

Da Gameboyz 72/100

« Despite any downsides this game might have, "Strider 2" delivers what it was meant to -- sheer fun. »

CNET Gamecenter 70/100

« A solid retro title -- it's over quickly, and the graphics are rough, but the gameplay triumphs. »

« I bought "Strider 2" digitally on the PlayStation 3 store. But retro action fans should get the actual PS1 two-disc set, if they can. It includes both "Strider " and "Strider 2". The ports are arcade perfect. After you beat "Strider 2" a few times, you unlock Strider Hein (the hero from Part 1), Infinite Boost and a bonus level. While both games only last around 30 minutes, they're a blast to play. Overall, I'd rate this with an 8 out of 10. »

lesiuML 6/10

« Veery short game. I finished it in one sitting. Game have a really quick gameplay and the feeling of speed is something very unique. Strider is so short that it is really no hustle to just pick it up and finish. »

Alex_Pilgrim008 8/10

« Strider 2 for the PS1 is an arcade perfect port. It also includes the original Strider. After completing both games, you unlock an extra playable character and bonus level. This is a nice dual-pack for those that like fast and flashy arcade action. A gem. I would grade it with an 8.3 out of 10. »

Leontorres7 8/10

« This is really a great game, there is so much to love about it, must play for sure! »

bobscary 9/10

« this game is almost perfect, only problem is the game is criminally short even for ps standerts. but the game had good level design, cool physics, and overall a very fun game. even after you beat it, you could play as strider hein, giving you a different way to play through the game. »
