Moorhuhn Kart, sorti le 1er novembre 2002, marque la première incursion de la franchise Moorhuhn dans le genre de la course. Développé par Phenomedia Publishing et publié par Tandem Verlag et ak tronic, le jeu est disponible sur PC et PlayStation. Ce titre de course en kart propose des graphismes en 3D au style bande dessinée, cinq pilotes aux comportements distincts, et trois modes de jeu. Son fonctionnement évoque la série Mario Kart : le joueur sélectionne un personnage — Moorhuhn, Lesshuhn, Snowman ou Pumpkinhead — et doit gagner la course tout en subissant les attaques de ses adversaires. Ces derniers utilisent des objets comme des poids, des bombes à eau, du chewing-gum, des planches cloutées ou des roquettes pour gêner le joueur. Des paquets de power-ups, dont le contenu est révélé au hasard, viennent pimenter l'action. La conduite se fait au clavier ou avec une manette compatible Windows. Une version du jeu, appelée XL, ne comprend pas le mode Duel et deux circuits. Certains joueurs ont partagé leurs impressions sur Metacritic, évoquant un sentiment de soulagement pour les fans de la franchise et rappelant des souvenirs d'enfance liés au jeu.

« Moorhuhn Kart is a relief for all the gamers that grew up with this franchise; the last Moorhuhn racing game in the franchise was released in 2008, and I think that game only disappointed fans. This game is the closest players can get to an HD crazy chicken racing game and it's simply enjoyable. Let me explain: This game supports an extraordinary amount of languages, which means that everyone around the world can understand the instructions. The gameplay is simple, yet challenging enough for players to compete against each other in multiplayer and achieve a feeling of accomplishment after beating a friend. There are many maps included in this game which means you won't get bored as quickly as with the earlier Moorhuhn racing installments made by past developers. A tremendous amount of mobile users have downloaded the mobile version of this game, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that HD graphics on a big monitor are more pleasant to the eye. The game doesn't cost that much and I think that if you're looking to kill some hours of your time, or perhaps buy a fun little game for your children, you've come to the right place. »
« When I first played Moorhuhn Kart when I was like 5, I'm very happy that someone revived the game after such a long time. I have so many good childhood memories from this game, it's insane. This new version is just like the old game, but better. The graphics are very appealing and good-looking, the tracks are polished in many ways and the multiplayer is just top-notch, without any lags (a feature that I found absent in the original game title). Overall, this karting game is for everyone that is looking for a fun racing experience along with friends. You can connect your account to Facebook and play with your friends. Or you can even play cross-platform on Android etc... Of course, racing against AI is possible too. Also, the developer is very friendly and listens to suggestions and fixes reported bugs fast (not many developers are like that, so I'm very satisfied with the support and the way suggestions are handled). I'm very happy that Moorhuhn did a comeback in such an amazing way. 10/10, would totally recommend. »
