God is a Geek 100/100

« Everything about this game outdoes the first, and with the expanded Nemesis System, superb combat, and epic story, you'll be immersed for a long time. »

GameCrate 95/100

« Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a massive and ambitious action game that delivers an epic sense of scale. From single stealthy murders up to the never-ending fortress battles available via online play, Shadow of War is a blast. »

Game Informer 95/100

« Shadow of War fulfills the promise of its predecessor, completing a dark and violent lost tale set within the world of The Lord of the Rings. I was initially frustrated by the liberties that Monolith takes with this beloved fiction (which are plentiful), but I eventually abandoned myself to the insanity, and fell down the rabbit hole into a superb fantasy adventure. Monolith captures the thrill of power with aplomb; the way it simultaneously speaks of its dangers and corrupting potential is the real magic. »

PlayStation LifeStyle 95/100

« An expanded Nemesis System creates fascinatingly interesting player stories, and the amount of freedom afforded to the player is staggering for a game of this scope. »

COGconnected 94/100

« Shadow of War improves upon its predecessor in nearly every conceivable way. The story is more engaging and full of fascinating characters, the Nemesis System has been fleshed out to feel deeper and less formulaic, and all the additions to combat and progression are more than welcome. It may not be canon, but this is without a doubt the best game to take place in Tolkien’s expansive universe. »

Multiplayer.it 93/100

« Middle-Earth: Shadow of War made us wait a little longer than we expected, but it was worth it. This new chapter brings more maps, more missions, refined gameplay and graphics in a huge, multifaceted experience that's not going to let you down. »

IGN 90/100

« Similar to the way Batman: Arkham City built on the foundation of Arkham Asylum, Middle-earth: Shadow of War is bigger and more ambitious in scope than Shadow of Mordor, with great results. The way it expands the Nemesis system with far greater variety and fortress sieges makes even better use of the stand-out generated characters, and its battles with memorable uruk captains remain challenging all the way through the campaign and into the clever asynchronous multiplayer beyond. »

GamesRadar+ 90/100

« A huge Lord of the Rings experience that’s always enjoyable, although its scale leaves it straining at the seams at times. »

Churroman 10/10

« The game is quite good, although aspects such as the old Act 4, orc purchases, the ease of combat after becoming moderately experienced with the game, etc., can be criticized, but in Overall, this is a pretty solid and fun game considering aspects like the Nemesis System, deserving a high rating, in addition to containing an interesting story. »

« Really good sequel. Better than Shadow of Mordor in all aspects. Love this game. The only one thing, there's no patch for new generation consoles. »

« I liked this game, just not as much as Shadow of Mordor. This is a sequel that fell short. The ending seemed ambiguous, the powers weren't as interesting. The new taking over the towers idea was cool, but I had no interest in online gaming. It was good, but Shadow of Mordor was an all-time great. »

Kinokee 2/10

« Clunky controls. Slow movement. Feels like jumping is limited to cardinal directions. Climbing and running are the same button and good luck doing what you want when you want during combat. Camera enjoys moving me into oblivion. Freeze frames during combos lead to death. You need to attack immune enemies and get counter attacked to maintain combos. The camera is BS. Prepare for it to zoom in at the ground and rotate on its own as things **** on you from all angles and one shot you then level up. Game has no way to target what you attack, so be prepared to murder all your allies you spent time recruiting because for whatever reason they are high priority in the auto target system. Legitimately one of the worst and most frustrating games I've played »

« Well How this game got lower point than the first one? It literally is the uprageded version of the first game with a better storytelling that the first game lacked. Its still not on aamazing levels but definitely upgraded. The Orc captains can adapt to you to a certain point now that is good. Nemesis system is definitely more defined I liked it even though I didn't want to slaughter everyone now cause I already did that in the first game before this so if you play back to back you will see and appreciate the difference yet you will yuck a bit. The COMBAT. Well It is WAY MORE easy in second game. Maybe some people wouldn't agree Idk but In the first game when you fought with a huge group of orcs and many more gathered around you, you wouldn't be able to kill them not fully. Now in the second game you just can if you can play right unless you are playing on the hardest of hardest difficulty I guess. For me even though Upgraded It is still on the same level with the first game. But just because I will give the same number on paper don't let it fool you cause Second one is better than the first one. For example when you killed captain orcs they were dropping runes for your Weapons but It was becoming unnecessary after a short period of time. They turned this into equipment level without making it too muchnof a level system. You go and kill a captain and gain some equipment and that's it which is fine. What I most dislike is the focus time on bow and arrow and being able to get your arrows back from the same enemy you fought. The second one is still in the game but you can't do it like you did in the first game cause It was abuse able. You can just kill a boss any boss by shooting them with how many arrows younhave and you can consume them back and just dodge and shoot them over and over again. »

« Orkları kesiyorum biçiyorum ama hıyarlar dirilip geri geliyor, birinin kolunu nasıl kesmişsem kemi geri takıp bir kaç et koymuşlar etrafına adamı makina yapmışlar »

Crycass 7/10

« Gorgeous scenery, incredible combat system, and an excellent set of mechanics all complementing each other to create the best licensed, non-canon LOTR game. The story isn’t memorable by any stretch, but it is serviceable, and it’s only there to push the arcade-like gameplay forward. The voice acting is otherworldly (seriously, both Baker and Duncan did a fantastic job with this and the team behind every uruk’s voice is exceptional). The music however is sadly a bit forgettable, and I feel like it rarely takes the stage. For a game as grandiose as this, there could’ve definitely been a more ambitious OST. The only major criticism I could give it is that it becomes an incredibly grindy/repetitive slog towards the end, and the main missions are nowhere near as imaginatively unique as the IP itself. The nemesis system had so much more potential than to be implemented in yet another generic, bloated, Ubisoft-inspired mess of an open world. Play the definitive edition with all the DLCs installed. »
