Mega Man X7
Description (IGDB)
Mega Man X7, known as Rockman X7 in Japan, is a 2003 platform game developed by Capcom for the PlayStation 2. It is the seventh main game in the Mega Man X series and the first in the series to appear on the sixth generation of gaming consoles. Like other games in the series, Mega Man X7 has an octet of selectable stages of which the player fights through. The game differs from previous side-scrolling entries by featuring fully 3D graphics intermixed with both 3D and 2D gameplay.
Histoire (IGDB)
Following the Eurasia and Nightmare incidents, Reploids work diligently to rebuild the Earth. Growing weary of the seemingly never-ending Maverick Wars, X decides to retire in search of more peaceful solutions, leaving Zero in charge.[6] In X's absence, Maverick activity rapidly begins to rise, which leads to the formation of an unsanctioned anti-Maverick vigilante group known as Red Alert. As the group grows more and more reckless, one of their members, a new generation Reploid prototype named Axl, decides to defect. Red, the group's leader, is angered by Axl deserting them, and goes on a rampage to get him back.

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« The game shines graphically. Capcom uses a clever mix of 3D textures and cel shading. The backgrounds are full of vivid colors, the explosions are clear and there are even some neat shadowing effects. »
« The simple lack of camera control during 3D levels, the rather unimaginative level designs, the sometimes annoying lock-on system (that Axl uses) are all factors in the game that simply drag it down. »
« Considering the highly frustrating boss battles and some irritating level designs, Mega Man X7 is likely to only appeal to the Blue Bomber's hardcore fans. [Nov. 2003, p.151] »
« Mega Man's bread and butter has always been the run-n-gun, and X7 continues that tradition admirably. [Nov 2003, p.84] »
« The multiple angles, 3D engine, and stellar visuals in Mega Man X7 do move the series forward, even if gameplay remains the same, which is okay in our book. [Nov 2003, p.41] »
« Everything X7 delivers is quality, although with an unshakable sense of 'been there many times before'. »
« We can only recommend the game to those with an undying patience or a passion for the series. Otherwise, there are plenty of other actioners out there that will provide far more fun than this. »
« When X7 ventures into new territory and starts tinkering with the tried-and-true Mega Man formula, things start to go wrong. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Oh its true what everyone said. It's a nightmare without the nightmare virus. Aiming system is not ready, point of view also horrible. Theres a lot of stages that i dont wanna go back ever again. Boss fight that could be great if theres a real auto lock become so ackward. The only redeemable is the fact that the sigma fight is not difficult. And whos idea to think that burn to the ground is such a good memory building. »
« i came into this game expecting to give it a low rating, sure i know i wasn't gone think the game was as bad as people said it was, i still thought i give the game 3 or **** BOY WAS I WRONG! this game is great! not only do they not pull the "everyone is infected therefore bad" storyline i don't really like in X "(since it removes the inregulers agency for the story) no its something else this time. gameplay is soild for the most part, that being said the game lacks anyway to lock onto a target, a thing that most of these 3d games have people also complain about X taking a break and act like he went full all pacifist or something, no X has just had enough of the violence, so his taking more or less a break form being a hunter, which is in character for him, X has always hated violence and asked himself many times if it really was the right thing, anyone who seen the credits for X1 to 3 should know this (looking att you projay!) the game also has this issue where when you wall jump you kinda jump farther away form the wall then towards it? its not a big issue, the game doesn't have that much wall jumping in it and so long as you don't hold the dash butten you should be alright so if you have an easy and cheap way to get your hands on it give this game a shot and form your own opinions on it, and you might be suprised to see what you think. there are only 3 X games i rate higher then this one »
« This game is very soothing when you fight Flame Hyenard. He comes up to you and says "Hey (Your character.) Let's just relax and sit back and I will do some asmr for you." Then he whispers "Burn" "Burn to the ground" and it's so soothing you two become best friends and sigma gets cancer. »
« X7 is an experimented downgrade compared to its previous predecessors this game cannot get 3d or 2.5 right at the same time the controls are clunky the rolling is slow the upgrades are minimal everything about the game is very disappointing and the bugs and glitches are terrible however i do like the they added voice acting but it's not very good still it feels too kiddish and this here is my full review on Mega Man X7 »
« [SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.] »
« Stages are far too long both because of their design and how slow everyone is. Zero is damn near useless outside of bosses, and said bosses are HORRIBLE. The worst offenders were Red, Snipe AnteatOr and BURN TO THE GROU- BURN! Alia doesn't shut the hell up, the voice acting is laughable, and almost every character is either boring, annoying or ****. At least X6, for as hellish as it can be, still plays well despite its own issues. This game ****, everybody knows it already. »
« UN juego que no me parece malo, una historia que se destaca, una jugabilidad algo tosca por los niveles y la lentitud, especialmnete la camara,al inicio se sientede un bajo atractivo, pero al final se siente mas ligero y divertido, su musica y el cel-shaded su mejor punto son hermosos, y la historia tiene su interesante trama, »
« La mitad de las secciones en 3D son malas, algunas secciones en 2D son decentes, algunos jefes tediosos, controles malos y un GRAN ETC…, es un juego inconsistente. »
