Earth Fest Sale and DLC News

Good news everyone! The Earth Appreciation Fest is online and Imagine Earth is on sale big time! 70 % off like never before! Get it now if you haven't already ;D20 % of net income from this sale is donated to Cool Earth an organisation that preserves forests all arround the world!Transformations DLC is almost readyHere are the major features you can expect from the DLC in the brand new announcement trailer. Stay tuned as we're finishing up the last details of the next DLC for Imagine Earth called Transformations:Transformation DLC FeaturesThe DLC features a campaign in which you are part of a rescue team that wants to transform civilizations before their planets are destroyed by a climate catastrophe.New buildingsThe DLC coming early next year will finally include new ocean buildings: A wave power plant and a floating algae factory. There are slums from which you must relocate the population to modern quarters, and mountains of trash that you can recycle as a source of income. Insect farming will most certainly be introduced as a new food source, and you can create lakes to cool down the temperatures in your cities, as heat waves will be a new and threatening disaster.Bonus on Fossil FieldsWe had to completely rework how the influence of fossil deposits on the production of power plants worked out. So far fossil power plants always had full productivity as long as there was still a neighboring field having at least 10% deposit. This is more differentiated now:The power plant will still have full bonus when it’s on a fossil field with more than 50% reserve.Down to 10% it will still have half productivity. The same goes when the neighboring field has 50% or more reserve.Below that it will have no more bonus. On fields that are not near a fossil reserve it will have a malus (as it used to).Emission Tax vs. CompensationWe have raised the CO² tax to make it more relevant and change the behavior of other factions as well.Abandoned CitiesThe procedural Planet generator can now generate abandoned cities and you can also define how much they should lie in ruins.Relocating City DistrictsYou can now relocate city districts without losing the complete inhabitants of a district. You can also relocate supply buildings without losing their production for a long while and thus causing panic in your population.

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Softpedia 90/100

« Imagine Earth is a very good title for both fans and newcomers to the building and management genre. I loved the likes of Pharaoh (when much younger) and Cities: Skylines (more recently) and really appreciate both the foundations and the quirks this game has to offer. For someone who is exploring this gaming space for the first time the difficulty ramps up gently and there is plenty of info on how to engage with the mechanics. There are times when the title seems to deliver more core ideas than it has to, possibly to add more challenge even if it does not need to. But most of the time the game from Serious Bros is both engaging and enchanting. Imagine Earth shines in both campaign and free play and I cannot wait to see how the team expands on its core mechanics. »

Multiplayer.it 80/100

« Ecology is a delicate issue and not always dealt with properly in the videogame field. Imagine Earth even makes it one of the cornerstones of all its gameplay, on which it builds a layered and fun game. »

Checkpoint Gaming 80/100

« Imagine Earth is a great strategy title with a meaningful underlying message. With original mechanics regarding natural resources, the health of your planet, and overpopulation, the game offers an immersive and thought-provoking experience that will satisfy both veteran strategy game fans and newbies alike. Its gorgeous visuals and story will be a great fit for anyone who enjoys city builders and strategy titles and is keen to try out something new. »

GameStar 73/100

« Imagine Earth is a solid strategy sim with Civilization elements that lacks esprit and reflection on its theme. »

Hey Poor Player 70/100

« I’d like to applaud Imagine Earth for what it’s attempted, which is to create a city-builder that stresses the importance of a self-sustainable civilization despite a seemingly never-ending supply of Earth-like planets. Fostering a future that asks humanity to consider its carbon impact before its capital gains is one we’ll need to see if we’re to thrive in the 22nd century and beyond, and it’s great to see a game where such a simulation can play out positively. Although the characters can feel a bit robotic and the peripheral mechanics could use better explanations, Imagine Earth is absolutely worth adding to any city-builder fan’s library, and that goes doubly so if Alpha Centauri and Civilization IV were your jam. »

Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)

spamninjaass 2/10

« Simplistic, cookie cutter game, copied from the base genre. Not funny, conceptually empty and false 'utopian' vision. Does work, but get anything else in the genre. »

Hemingways 9/10

« The gameplay is very promising and has potential for a lot of depth but the game is screaming for graphics improvement. Once you put enough buildings on it, everything is blending together and it is hard to understand what is what and how things are connected. »

DualKendit 9/10

« There's a very unique game concept here with original ideas. Well, you need to give this game some time to unfold the complexity of the connections between all game elements, the aspects of trading, crafting and the interactions between the factions in competition mode. If you're not interested in that there's no need to play a bit of the tutorial and then voting it down before refunding. That's what I read a lot in the negative reviews around here. »

Dontrist 10/10

« Great sci-fi economic simulation with logic puzzle background and an interesting colony buildup game. You found your first base for your company on a calm planet, build your basic food supply. Then you go for basic economy, like lumber camp or construction supply business, not to forget energy supply. Each sector is enhancable by research, while you further advance in new branches to get better diversification. The more you get your basics running, the more you can expand your base into city or mega city. If you finish some requests from your company you may be offered to found new base camps on other continents...probably to exploit rare materials, which you can sell to trade ships. Each step is connected to others, so you have a complex network of coherences dependent toward the others. Can't say which aspect of the game (simulation/puzzle/buildup) is leading, but the mix is fun and charming the player long-term. It is still early access, while I guess they are already beyond and bringing in new stuff every now and then to provide players a real challenge. After you managed some small planets you are requested to take over more complex orders or rescue missions. Anyhow you start your business from scratch on every planet, you are able to hang on to your researched fields. Actually I'm on a rescue mission for a failed colony one of my 'collegues' has ruined with off-shore oil-platforms aso. Very challenging. :-) There is a nice demo available, which allows you to continue your career after buying the game. »

goodolrory 10/10

« I have always liked these types of civilization based games. To be clear it isn't like civilization but much more unique. I was pleasently surprised by gameplay and while some of the instructions left me guessing I thought that the game is bringing something very unique to the plate. »
