Heavy Rain
Heavy Rain
Description (IGDB)
Heavy Rain is a cinematic psychological thriller from game developer Quantic Dream exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Dealing with a range of adult themes, the game revolves around a sophisticated plot and strong narrative threads that explore a complex moral proposition. You assume the role of multiple characters with very different backgrounds, motivations, and skills in a world where each player decision affects what will follow.
Histoire (IGDB)
The game focuses on four different characters; Ethan Mars, a father and main protagonist; Scott Shelby, a private eye; Norman Jayden, an FBI agent and finally Madison Paige, a photojournalist. They are very different characters and do not know each other at the game's point, but are all connected in the sense that they all have interest in the game's main antagonist, the Origami Killer.
Ca drache fort gamin, prend ton K-Way !

« We're enjoying it immensely... It is a game like none other. [Mar 2010, p.66] »
« I have never played anything so momentous or revolutionary as Heavy Rain. In the coming years I expect the game's influence to be felt throughout the industry in terms of gameplay, storytelling and interactivity. This is a game that deserves all the plaudits it can get. So please go out and buy Heavy Rain and reward those that have made such a groundbreaking videogame event. »
« An emotionally engaging thrill-ride from start to finish, Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain is a superbly crafted interactive experience, told expertly through it's stunning visuals and believable characters. »
« Heavy Rain is a rare experience that can be enjoyed by a watching audience and not just the person with the control pad. It's also one that you'll certainly want to play through at least one more time just to see what you missed and perhaps reach a better outcome. »
« Quantic Dream puts forth some truly incredible ideas and concepts as to what a game can be, but they’ll stay ideas and concepts until gamers are willing to accept that they deserve more than another GTA or Call of Duty clone. Heavy Rain is without a doubt one of the most impressive games of the last five years, and it shouldn’t be missed by anyone. »
« Everybody can breathe a sigh of relief, because Heavy Rain was definitely worth the long wait. This is an intriguing murder mystery that will have you guessing all the way to the end. Best of all, the narrative is one of the strongest I've seen in years. »
« It definitely treads a very thin line, balancing interactivity and spectacle, but it is a balancing act that it gets absolutely right. »
« Heavy Rain transcends the current definition of a video game and blazes a beautiful, artistic trail with a psychological thriller that features shades of Hitchcock. »

« my intro to the infinite choice of decisions, the triumphant of thrilling atmosphere on a compelling story to my soul. »
« There's a reason this title is still talked about today. It's true, among all the choice-based games, it has some of the worst gameplay. Even simply walking is uncomfortable, and the available actions are unclear, so you risk making mistakes and changing the story for the worse. On the other hand, the plot is well-crafted, the four characters are very interesting, and nothing is by chance, and you get the feeling that every choice is crucial to how the story unfolds. Furthermore, it succeeds in conveying anxiety and sadness from beginning to end, fueled by the dark atmosphere that sets in immediately after the prologue. »
« Its alright, I loved the motion gimmicks and the quick-time events because I am an enjoyer of fun. The story was okay but not as life-changing as I was led to believe. Overall I enjoyed it but I would not revisit it anytime soon. »
« Heavy Rain is the best work of Quantic Dreams, The story is pretty strong and simple making you understand it pretty easily with no further complications, the ambientation is very well archived giving you all the vibes that this games wants you to feel. If I had to say something that could be improved about this game, is that the impact in the story that you have as a player doesn't really change, is always the same, you choose for the decision A or B and that's it, and the thing is that every decision leads to the same path until you reach the final. »
« 93/100 -------------------------------------------------------------------- »
« My Review – Heavy Rain – 10/10 I gave Heavy Rain a 10 out of 10 because it is one of the most emotionally powerful and immersive narrative-driven games ever made. From start to finish, the game fully commits to its interactive drama approach, making every decision feel meaningful and personal. The story is gripping, mature, and relentlessly tense, pulling you into a dark, rain-soaked mystery where your choices directly shape the outcome. The multiple playable characters are deeply human and flawed, and the way their stories intersect creates an unforgettable sense of urgency and emotional weight. The use of motion controls and contextual actions enhances immersion, making you feel physically involved in each intense moment rather than simply watching events unfold. The soundtrack, atmosphere, and cinematic presentation perfectly complement the game’s somber tone, while the branching narrative and multiple endings encourage reflection and replayability. Even with some minor gameplay quirks, the emotional impact, storytelling ambition, and player agency far outweigh any flaws. Heavy Rain is a masterclass in interactive storytelling, and that is why it earns a well-deserved 10/10. »
« This game could be ol but the atmosphere and story is so good that easily can effect anyone who likes play interactive games aura and plot twits of the game is just so good the only bad thing is the mechanics are not really good but it also give a special character to quanricdream games »
« Absolutely terrible controls! It may be a decent story in the end, but the controls make it not worth bothering. It’s also so boring! You really have to want to play these Quantic games, else you’ll give up due to the appalling gameplay. It’s like they’ve never seen another game and wanted to make stuff up from scratch; but failed miserably in their arrogance. Never again! »
