JoWooD Entertainment AG
JoWooD Entertainment AG (formerly JoWooD Productions Software AG, commonly referred to as JoWooD) was an Austrian video game publisher that was founded in 1995. In June 2011, JoWooD Entertainment all their assets and its subsidiary, Quantic Lab, was acquired by Nordic Games Holding AB. From this point on, JoWooD was no longer operating. All activities of the two companies were taken over by Nordic Games Holding. On 16 August 2011 Nordic Games Holding announced that it had acquired JoWooD's products and brands and some of the companies labels, including The Adventure Company. Following the acquisition it was announced that JoWood and the Adventure Company would become publishing labels for Nordic Games GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nordic Games Holding.

Spil Games was a Dutch video game developer based in Hilversum. In 2012, it was reported that Spil Games' U.S.-based tween girl GirlsGoGames.com was one of the top websites that U.S. girls visited when online. Girls most frequently played games that involved cooking, dress-up, and quizzes. The most popular game girls played on GirlsGoGames.com was Pet Party. In total, Spil Games expanded its segmented and localized approach with more than 50 websites where people can play games online in 20 languages. 80% of its games are from third-party developers, as of 2012. This reaches a large audience of 190 million monthly users on average. In September 2014, the company reorganised, closing its Dutch development studio and concentrating on mobile game publishing.

First Star Software, Inc. was a Chappaqua, New York based video game development, publishing and licensing company, founded by Richard Spitalny (who remains the company's president), Billy Blake, Peter Jablon, and Fernando Herrera in 1982. It is best known for the series Boulder Dash, which began on the Atari 8-bit family, and Spy vs. Spy, which first appeared on the Commodore 64. Games were ported to or written for home computers, consoles, and later for Macintosh, Microsoft Windows, and portable devices. Millions of units have been sold in both the Boulder Dash and Spy vs. Spy series of games. As of January 1, 2018 the First Star Software name and website are owned by BBG Entertainment GmbH which also purchased all intellectual property rights pertaining to Astro Chase, BOiNG!, Boulder Dash, Bristles, Flip & Flop, Millennium Warriors, Omnicron Conspiracy, Panic Button, Rent Wars and Security Alert.
